Finance Associate Job Description
A Finance Associate plays a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of an organization. Creating reports and dashboards to visualize financial performance, identifying trends and variances for management review. Conducting variance analysis to understand discrepancies between actual and budgeted figures. * Accounting Operations: Processing accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate payments and collections. Reconciling bank statements and general ledger accounts to identify and resolve discrepancies. Maintaining accurate records of financial transactions and supporting documentation. Assisting with month-end and year-end closing procedures. * Budgeting & Forecasting: Supporting the budgeting process by collecting data, creating budget templates, and consolidating departmental budgets. Assisting in the development of financial forecasts based on historical data and market trends. Monitoring budget performance and identifying areas for cost savings or revenue enhancement. * Compliance & Auditing: Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., GAAP or IFRS) and regulatory requirements. Assisting with internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries. Maintaining internal controls to safeguard company assets and prevent fraud. * Data Management & System Administration: Maintaining the integrity of financial data by ensuring accuracy and consistency. Assisting in the implementation and maintenance of accounting software and systems. Performing data entry and validation to support financial reporting and analysis. * Other Duties: Performing other financial duties as assigned by the Finance Manager or other senior finance staff. Supporting ad-hoc projects and initiatives as needed. Providing support to other departments within the organization. Qualifications: * Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. * Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis). * Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP). * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Strong attention to detail and accuracy. * Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
