Finance Operations Manager
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Finance Operations Manager to oversee and optimize our financial operations processes. This pivotal role will be responsible for ensuring the efficiency, accuracy, and compliance of all financial transactions and reporting. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles, financial systems, and operational best practices. You will lead a team, drive process improvements, and contribute to the overall financial health of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
* Process Optimization: Identify and implement process improvements to streamline financial operations, reduce errors, and improve efficiency. This includes evaluating current workflows, identifying bottlenecks, and proposing solutions to enhance automation and standardization. * Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of finance operations professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. Responsibilities include assigning tasks, providing training and development opportunities, conducting performance reviews, and ensuring team members have the resources and support needed to succeed. * Financial Reporting and Analysis: Oversee the preparation and analysis of accurate and timely financial reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. This includes developing and maintaining reporting schedules, reviewing data for accuracy and completeness, and providing insights and recommendations to management based on financial performance. * Internal Controls: Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and prevent fraud. This includes developing and implementing policies and procedures, monitoring compliance, and conducting regular audits to identify and address weaknesses. * System Management: Manage and maintain financial systems, ensuring data integrity and security. This includes working with IT to troubleshoot issues, implement upgrades, and optimize system performance. Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is highly preferred. * Vendor Management: Manage relationships with key vendors, ensuring timely and accurate payments and resolving any disputes. This includes negotiating contracts, monitoring vendor performance, and ensuring compliance with service level agreements. * Budgeting and Forecasting: Participate in the budgeting and forecasting process, providing input and analysis to support accurate financial planning. This includes developing budget models, analyzing variances, and providing recommendations to improve forecast accuracy. * Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, regulations, and internal policies. This includes staying up-to-date on changes in accounting principles and regulations, and ensuring that the organization is in compliance with all applicable requirements. * Audit Support: Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations as needed. This includes preparing audit schedules, responding to auditor inquiries, and implementing audit recommendations.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. * Proven experience in financial operations management, preferably in a similar industry. * Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial systems, and internal controls. * Excellent leadership and communication skills. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. * Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle). * CPA or other relevant certification is a plus.
